Location Characteristics:
Petaluma has a turn-of-the-century downtown with iron front buildings that line the Petaluma River waterfront. People
really love living here in this temperate climate of Petaluma ~ we even get afternoon breezes to cool off the hot summer days.
Petaluma is an easy commute path to San Francisco jobs; only 38-miles to the Golden Gate. This shorter commute keeps prices
in Petaluma slightly higher than the rest of Sonoma County. Petaluma has many different charming areas... West Petaluma is
great hillsides where many cattle, sheep and horse lovers live. Downtown is reminiscent of the Victorian days. Once called
the "Chicken Capitol of the World", Petaluma still has a country feel with it's miles of rolling coastal mountains.
Eastside of Petaluma has been developing into beautiful new home districts with award winning schools. It also has it's own
small plane Airport. In the year 2000, Petaluma was christened as "Tele-com Valley" when many large communication
companies re-located to the business parks of Northeast Petaluma. Due to all the new 'Tele-com' families moving here, it
created competition for the housing market and the prices climbed due to the smaller supply for the demand needed.
