Sausalito is a beautiful waterfront community and a city that prides itself on a strong and unique spirit.

Home of the Sausalito Art Festival, number #1 in the USA. Sausalito has many other events - from the Jazz & Blues By The Bay concerts to Opera By The Bay and the Caledonia Street Faire Sausalito offers a wide variety of entertainment for residents and visitors of all ages.

Harbors, marinas and yacht clubs abound. You can rent a bike, boat, or seaplane. There are over 20 park and beach facilities. Activities in Sausalito include walks through the Marin headlands, the children's Discovery Museum, or a stop at the world-renowned Marine Mammal Rescue Center or Angel Island.

Growing up, I can remember window shopping on weekends with my girlfriends. After spending a day shopping or gallery hopping... we would linger over a relaxing meal. You can find it all by the bay, from superstar sushi to succulent seafood. In Sausalito, you can find world class hotels, numerous restaurants and a diverse selection of shopping opportunities, galleries and retail fashion shops.

Sausalito was incorporated in 1893, and named by 18th century Spanish explorers for the "little willow" trees (Saucelito) which were found, in abundance, on the banks of its streams. Businesses and property owners have made Sausalito their home base because of it's proximity to San Francisco, plus it's breath taking views, and it's sumptuous mix of architecture. Sausalito home styles include: Mediterranean, Victorian, Classical turn of the Century, Floating, and Art's and Crafts.

Location Characteristics: Sausalito covers a mere two and one half miles; a small town of only 7,500 residents boasting spectacular waterfront views.
Approximate Location Boundaries: Sausalito is located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, on the south-eastern tip of Marin County.

Home sales will be somewhat sensitive to interst rates, but Marin County does not follow the normal stats for the USA.  Marin prices will always maintain good value because of the Pearl S. Buck Legacy in this Gorgeous Coastal County. Since there is no more space to build and nearly ninety percent (90%) of Marin is set aside as open space; most of it is available for the leisure of its residents.
