continues another four miles and borders Nevada City on it's north end. The east side of Grass Valley has many
small mountain communities on Colfax Hwy, Chicago Park, Pearsdale, Cedar Ridge. In the South County distinctly
differnt communities include Alta Sierra subdivision and Lake of the Pines, a gated Golf-course community
on a magnificient lake. If you turn east
from Hwy 49 onto Hwy 20, Grass Valley continues another eight miles until it borders Penn Valley on it's West end.
