Approximate Location Boundaries: The city is bordered by the Tahoe National Forest and is just minutes
from many Sierra mountain lakes and rivers which offer all varieties of outdoor recreational opportunities. Nevada City offers
country living and many of the same cultural amenities of a large city. Charming Historic Mining town, known for its great
"small town" businesses! Leave the hustle and bustle of the big city, come experience the charm and ambiance found in the
Sierra foothills community of western Nevada County.
Location Characteristics: CALIFORNIA'S BEST KEPT SECRET! Small town atmosphere, great schools, fresh
air, pines, and easy commute to Roseville & Sacramento. In recent years Nevada City has attracted artists, writers and
musicians. It has also brought many business opportunities for those who want to leave the big city business environment.
Nevada City's downtown district is a National Historic Landmark where visitors and residents enjoy live theatre, quality restaurants,
specialty shops, galleries and museums. Nevada City had its beginning in 1849 during the Gold Rush and became the seat of
Nevada County in 1850.
This is God's Country and Nevada County is highly desired when you are relocating. Since 2000,
property values have increased dramatically and appreciation has continued through Dec. 2005. Home prices are still significantly
lower than homes in the SF Bay Area or Southern California. My daughter moved to Penn Valley in 2001, and I followed her to
be close to my grandkids to this fabulous mountain community.
